Istok Films is a New York-based film production company, founded by Emilija Gasic and Alex Wiske. Having met and collaborated during their time at NYU Tisch, the pair have continued
their creative partnership, combining their experience and expertise to bring your vision to life with superb cinematic quality.

 

Alex Wiske is a director and producer from New Haven, Connecticut. He holds an M.F.A. from the NYU Tisch Graduate Film Program. He won the Best Producing award at the 2018 First Run Film Festival for “Aquaculture,” starring Josephine Decker. He directed “Sheila” and co-directed “Her & Him,” and wrote feature screenplays “Zanesville” and “Regicides”.

 

Emilija Gasic is an award-winning Serbian filmmaker born in Yugoslavia, now residing in New York City. She graduated with an MFA in Cinematography from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and holds a BFA in Film Directing from the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia. As a director and cinematographer, Emilija has shot films in the USA, France, Norway, and Czech Republic. She is a recipient of the Nikon Storytellers Award and a nominee for the Volker Bahnemann for Outstanding Cinematography. Her analogue photography exhibition “In | Between” was shown in both Serbia and New York, with parts showcased in Hackney Studios in London, April 2021.
